Dark Explores booster box opening!

So I have finally received my booster box for the Dark Explorers expansion set. It was exciting opening it, and I am happy to say that I came fairly close to completing the set... at least the regular cards. My biggest pulls were Tornadus EX, Kyogre EX, and a full art Groudon EX.

I am so very much behind with videos on my youtube channel, so  it might be a little while before actually getting to the dark explorers series of vids. But, that doesnt mean that updates can't be done here! I will be putting links to my Next Destinies scans soon, and soon after that, will put up the Dark Explorers scans! So lots of things coming up in the next few weeks for you guys!

Dark explorers has hit!

So I know I'm a little late on this, but the Dark Explorers expansion has been out since Wednesday. I am waiting on a booster box, but seeing booster packs in stores made me too excited for the set, so I did buy some, but no video for them. The videos will of course begin when the booster box arrives.

I will also be putting up a couple last videos from my Next Destinies set of videos, one more of the next destinies cards, and a couple of videos from one of the newest japanese sets; dragon blast, which had some pretty awesome cards btw.

Pokemon TCG: Dark Explorers expansion

Hello, hello one and all!

The New Season is almost upon us, and a new Pkmn TCG expansion is almost live! This is exciting as this will be the first tim in many years that I will be actually getting into the action right from the get go. I've been keeping up with any news and scans that come online for this new set, all while keeping up with my Next Destinies collection. Dark Explorers looks sweet! There are some awesome looking EX cards in it, as well as all the regular cards. I'm hoping this time around that I'll at least be able to snag myself a secret rare card, as well as many of the super rares.

Now I know you must all be excited to see the cards, so here is a great sneak peek for you...

Last of the PokeCardMonsters...

Well, at least for the Next Destinies expansion. Yes, I have finished off my openings for the Next Destinies boosters, no this does not mean I will still be getting a booster box :( My counts are a little off, but to date, I have opened about the same amount of booster packs that would be in a box, so really, I figure I've opened a box. The set is not complete, not by a long shot, and I'm currently undecided as to whether I want to actually finish it or not. Either way, I wanted to be done with next destinies to begin making way for the next pokemon tcg expansion: Dark Explorers (I literally just almost typed 'Dark Shadows' ...).

My thoughts on the set; These cards were pretty cool, 'nuff said. What? thats not a good enough though? Ok, fine; The cards were amazing, and I never thought I would enjoy collecting pokemon cards again. Many of the cool cards that I got were more than I expected to get. Why? I came from collecting as a kid with the expansions up to the gym heroes set, to an adult with the Next Destinies expansion. The gap in between those sets made for some pretty big changes to the game in general. I never was guaranteed a holo in the early packs, and now I seem to pull them left right and center.

My biggest aspirations for the set were the EX cards, and boy did I get lucky with those. I pulled 3 from the booster packs, and one from a spring tin; Reshiram EX, Regigigas EX (full art), Kyurem EX, and Zekrom EX. Now while these may not be the best of the best, they were sure a surprise when I pulled them.

Overall, the set contains some great cards. Now, I'm not an expert at the game so i can't really review each of the good cards, but I can say that there are some that are def. worth it if you do play, as well as collect. I hope to do scans of the cards soon (at least of the ones I have) for my gallery of cards.

There will be many more videos in the coming weeks. I have a Japanese BW Set 5 Box on its way, as well, I am preparing for the Dark Explorers box that I will buy for sure. I'll be posting my latest video on my YT channel asap, so be sure to check it out.

Pokemon Next destines booster box

As some of my youtube viewers may know, I'm currently trying to raise funds (extra mind you, I am a student after all and need to stick to a strict budget :) ) to purchase a booster box from the next destines expansion. I am about halfway there, but would like to be the full way pretty soon. The reason I want to try to speed this up is that I want to get in booster opening videos before the next expansion comes out (in May I believe?).

Im gonna put it out there, somewhat as a plea, to you guys for your help. No, this doesnt mean that I'm asking you guys for your money, not at all! If you could, I have a download to the amazing Hunger Games Trilogy Ebook set - FREE for download. Downloading, or even just visiting would be an immense help in this en devour.

Fake Pokemon Cards - Review

Alrighty guys,

So the last post I had said that I accidentally purchased some packs of counterfeit cards, and this post will be a review of those cards.

First off will be the Holos:

These didnt turn out well from scanning, the reason being that it was like scanning a mirror. The "foil" isnt very foil like, compared to real the real cards. The ink used on them really reminds me of the first release of the base set holos, very easy to scratch off. The fake holos are also not the same size as the rest of the cards, and the rounded corners arent very "round". Lastly the fake holos a warped, warped beyond belief, they came out of the packs curved, and curved they will most likely stay.

Not being a player of the PKMN TCG, I would say that these cards would be amazing to battle with... mainly due to the exaggerated amount of HP they have. The HP ranges in amounts from 400 and up, why? I have no idea why the counterfeiters would do that. These cards would be great if they would have regular HP, and if the HP reflected on the attack damage (which is insanely low).

The Packaging and card back:

Im not sure how well the scan shows it off, but the color is way off on the card backs. Now the Packaging is where you can find out if the cards you may be purchasing are legit or not. The Undaunted packaging is one of the fake packs, and you can tell from the pokemon logo. The pokomon logo is discolored for one, and two its a bit blurry when compared to the official card packs (the next destines one). Secondly, the the ends of the packaging are brittle and already ripping (which I suppose made it easier to open the cards, unlike the child proof real packs).

The cards are fine for collectible purposes, not that I'm going to go out and get more, but in the sense that these few cards I have are a great gag to show to people.

Thats if for this brief review, the cards dont really offer much considering they are fake. Im hoping to get some reviews of the Next Destines set up in the next couple of weeks ( provided school permits me to do so). In the mean time, check out my YOUTUBE channel for booster openings.

Fake Cards.... Wha?!?!?!

So I had a little mishap yesterday. I was at a dollar store with my gf and as she was paying for whatever crap she was getting, I saw some packs of Pokemon cards and thought they might be a cool booster opening for my Youtube channel, plus is needed some change. These packs were a buck each, and I thought "Score!" and didnt think of anything else mainly because they were cards form an older expansion ( one of the HeartGold and SoulSilver expansions). I grabbed four of them, since that seems to be a good amount, and went on my merry way. After getting home, and examining the packs, something felt off, really off, like there was a lack in quality, YES even from the packs! One possibility that crossed my mind was that they were older and may have been sitting, un-bought, for a while. But by looking at them closer, I began to realize that these were not looking to be a good purchase...

I opened one pack to test out, and thought I would just use the last three for a new video, and what i found surprised me, and somewhat shocked me. The first card I could see was a poliwag, something seemed very different about the card in general though, and thats when I noticed the massive amount of HP, 400 something (I'll update this once I put pics and a review up), which was astonishing for a common card. Thats when I realized these packs were counterfeit.

All was not lost though, I dont have very many knockoffs of real products so this is kinda cool, and somewhat collectible. The quality of the cards is horrendous, especially the holos, which arent all that holo at all. I guess the lesson here today is to be wary when the price is so low. Either way' I'll be doing a video review and scans of the cards in the hopefully near future.
